Removing nofollow from comments’ links
Due to the large number of spam appearing in comments, WordPress designers added the nofollow attribute by default (look at http://www.webrankinfo.com/actualites/200501-nofollow.htm for example) in comments’ links, in order to ask Google not to follow those links anymore, therefore discouraging spammers.
In fact spammers expect Google’s scan of our pages, and the consequent follow-up of their link, to improve their referencing.
But hey, antispams are more efficient nowadays and it seems that even Google is starting to follow these links again, in spite of nofollow.
